Plan B

Well, after hours of searching, we found a place that might work out. It’s eclectic and spacious—over a thousand square feet— has a king-sized, carved, French sleigh bed, a hammock just outside the patio doors with huge, flowering bougainvillea cascading over a trellis, teak loungers, a little kitchen, and is convenient to shopping and terrific restaurants, and is only a little more than $100 per night. The only thing that’s not included is food. Best of all, we won’t have to spend hours on a plane and then endure hotel transfers… because I already live here.

Yep. My place is pretty nice. But I’ll still have to pick up after myself. However, we could spend all day writing, and go out for fabulous dinners and still spend less than we would have had we snagged that sweet deal in Puerto Vallarta…

  1. well, sometimes travel is overrated and spending some relaxing time in a familiar locaiton can be just what the doctor ordered.  Besides Mexico is HOT this time of year.  Who wants to sweat.

Well, I tried…  at least you get some down time.

  2. Some of the best vacations I have had have been when we took time off and decided to stay home.  The jacuzzi tub actually got used!  It’s amazing how differently you look at a vacation spot compared to your own home.  You just have to promise not to obsess about laundry, gardening, cleaning, etc.  Pretend it is the resort that it actually is—you just have to act like you are actually on vacation.  That means lots of amazing dinners, full fat desserts, lots of lovin’—oh and don’t forget to buy lots of little mini liquor bottles and Toblerone to stock your mini fridge, it feels so indulgent!

  3. I think it sounds like heaven.  Enjoy!

  4. Sometimes, it’s enough just to be alone without the kids. And where you live there are lots of nice places you guys can do on day trips while the kids are gone. (Save the hotel money—dine out!)
