My thoughts? It’s all going to hell anyway so bring them all and scatter them in the direction of the free bakery samples.
Don’t forget to self-check-out with 46498496 items and forbid the kids from helping so they don’t remove any items from the designated holding area.
Going to the market with the kids in tow is no easy feat. It can be down right exhausting juggling a shopping list, a cart full of food and … your child(ren). Today, mom bloggers Daphne Brogdon of Cool Mom, Caroline Murphy of Smarty Pants Mama and Chrstine Koh of Boston Mamas share their tips on how to go grocery shopping with kids. What are your thoughts? I totally prefer to do the shopping solo, ever since I had to stop loading the kids in the cart. However, when needs must, I take them. Trader Joe’s makes it fun. They hide an animal in the store. The kids search for it, then run up front to tell them where it is. They get a treat (usually a fruit roll or sucker). I am usually half way through the store at this point. Then I’ll park the cart in a central spot and have them take items from my hands and put them in the cart. While waiting in line, they go up to the front and draw on the chalkboard.
If we go to Raley’s I tell them up front we are there for ONLY x, y, and z. We don’t do Safeway, as it’s too crowded and pricey. Unless we want to see all our friends, that is.
